Andrews Ales is a microbrewery based on the North side of the Solway Estuary in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. It all started from a love of good real ale.

An emphasis on attention to detail is our byword, we produce hand-crafted artisan beers where quality is more important than quantity.

We produce our beers in small batches of 2.5BBL (420L), we then ferment and condition the beer until it's ready to go out for consumption. We use traditional techniques combined with new and classic hops to give our beers a degree of distinction.

Our cider is produced from apples all gathered from within 15 miles of our home. We carefully pick the apples and store them at home until they are ready to be pressed. Next we wash and pulp with a "scratter", the resulting pulp is then placed in rack and cloth "cheeses" in our 10 tonne press.

The press was built by us and uses pneumatic pressure to squeeze out the lovely precious juice. Blending and fermenting are next, followed by maturation in wooden barrels.

It's ready when it's ready! There is no rush.
